Description
A hot washer cleans the PET flakes via hot chemical wash where oil and other stubborn contamination is effectively removed. Labels that are stuck to the PET flakes are also removed within this machinery.
The traditional hot washer requires long reaction times, therefore, it is very difficult to ensure a washer’s capacity. ASG’s new, continuous-running hot washer resolves this issue.
How It Works
PET flakes are stored in the tanks and are mixed within a hot chemical wash. The rotary paddles make the flakes rub against each other removing any dirt on the surface including glue, mud, oil, etc…
Models & Specifications
To ensure the durability of ASG’s hot washer, the washer is made from 304 stainless steel.

Place An Order
The general lead time for all single-piece, standard equipment orders is 30 days. For custom orders or complete washing lines, the lead time is between 60 – 90 days. The actual lead time will depend heavily on the complexity of the project as well as the amount of machinery we have in queue at the time of your order.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the continuous-running hot washer clean PET flakes?
PET flakes are stored in tanks and mixed within a hot chemical wash. Rotary paddles make the flakes rub against each other, scrubbing dirt from the surface — including glue, mud, and oil — while the heated chemical solution dissolves stubborn contamination. Labels stuck to the flakes are also removed inside the machinery, so the output is ready for rinsing and drying.
How is this different from a traditional hot washer?
Traditional hot washers require long reaction times, which makes it difficult to guarantee capacity and creates bottlenecks. The continuous-running design feeds flakes through the wash without stopping between batches, resolving the capacity problem while keeping cleaning quality consistent across all output.
What materials is the washer built from?
The washer is made from 304 stainless steel to ensure durability. This gives strong resistance to corrosion and chemical attack from the hot alkaline wash, extending service life even under continuous daily operation.
What contaminants does it remove?
The combination of hot chemical wash and mechanical rubbing removes oil, grease, glue residues, mud, and other stubborn surface contamination from PET flakes. It also strips labels that remain stuck to flakes after the dry label removal stage, lifting overall flake purity.
Where does the hot washer fit in a PET washing line?
It typically sits after granulation and sink-float separation and before rinsing and drying. Flakes enter the hot wash already size-reduced and largely freed of caps and labels; they leave the washer chemically clean and ready for mechanical dewatering and thermal drying.
What capacity and specifications are available?
Key specifications include a Φ315 mm drum of around 4.5 m³ volume, a 15 kW main motor, and a 72.5 rpm rotary speed. Throughput depends on contamination levels and material condition — see the detailed continuous-running hot washer page for capacity figures and ordering guidance.
