Frequently Asked Questions

What materials does this shredding and washing line process?

The line is built for PP and HDPE rigid plastics — crates, drums, bottles, and similar hollow or bulky items. Rigid feedstock first goes through shredding for size reduction, then washing stages remove dirt, labels, and contaminants. Sorting by polymer before feeding gives the cleanest flake and the best resale value for the recycled material.

What equipment does the complete line include?

A typical rigid plastic shredding and washing line sequences a shredder for primary size reduction, conveyors, washing stages such as friction washers and sink-float tanks, and centrifugal plus thermal drying. The exact configuration depends on contamination levels and target output — ASG engineers each line around the customer’s feedstock and capacity needs.

Is 1000 kg/h the only capacity available?

No. The 1000 kg/h configuration suits mid-size operations, and ASG builds rigid plastic recycling lines in smaller and larger sizes as well. When requesting a quote, share your daily feedstock volume, material mix, and contamination level so each stage — shredding, washing, drying — is sized to match without bottlenecks.

What are the power and installation requirements?

A complete shredding and washing line needs three-phase industrial power for the shredder, washers, dryers, and conveyors, plus water supply and drainage for the washing stages. Plan floor space for each machine with infeed and discharge areas. Confirm exact power, water, and footprint figures with ASG for your specific configuration before preparing the site.

How long does delivery and commissioning take?

Typical lead times are around 30 days for standard single machines and 60–90 days for complete washing lines, depending on configuration complexity and the current production queue. Installation support and commissioning can be arranged so the line is running correctly from day one — discuss the schedule when requesting your quotation.

What maintenance does the line need?

The shredder blades and screens are the main wear items — inspect them regularly and rotate or replace before dull edges hurt throughput. Keep washer tanks and filters clean, check dryer screens and bearings on schedule, and lubricate moving parts per the manual. Preventive maintenance keeps the whole line running at rated capacity year-round.
